Farzotta is produced by La Stecciaia Brewery, the first certified organic farmhouse brewery in Tuscany, which uses homegrown organic grains. Farzotta Best Brew is an organic ale with added emmer, which undergoes a second fermentation after bottling and is neither pasturized nor filtered. With a rich golden color, it is delicate and balanced to the palate, with malty notes and the added sweetness of spelt. It also has a scent of white fruit, like pear and banana, with some floral undertones and is lightly sparkling with a slight taste of hops at the end. To balance the delicate notes of malt, as well as to meet the sweetness of spelt, the best appetizer for Farzotta Best Brew is Tuscan bread, very famous to be salt-free, with Tuscan ham or finocchiona salami on top. Tuscan ham, a tradition since Middle Ages when House of Medici reigned in Tuscany, will give to the appetizer a slightly spicy flavor, that will enhance the sparkling tones of Farzotta. On the other hand, finocchiona salami, with its round aroma of wild fennel and its soft and fresh flavor, will highlight the taste of ancient and homegrown emmer.
